Nela Rusková

Nela Rusková is a performer, creator, choreographer. She received her dance education at the Janáček Conservatory in Ostrava (ballet) and then at the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava - Dance Theatre and Performance, Choreography. During her studies, she traveled to Stavanger, Norway, as part of Erasmus+, and this trip also influenced her work. She focuses on the simplicity, details, and fragility of a person existing in this busy time. She refers to the subtlety of nature and its important role in human life, to moments between reality and utopian dreaming. She is interested in atypical body positions and the fragility of relationships in any spectrum and hierarchy.

As a performer, she has so far gained experience from artists such as S. Kúdelová, B. Janáková, S. Vlk Vlčeková, M. Štefančíková, or V. Revická. Her original work has been presented at festivals such as Tanečno, Kiosk, Movefest Ostrava, or NuDanceFest. She is a co-founder of the non-profit organization Objektorárium, which is an interdisciplinary platform at the intersection of architecture, theater, and dance for performative works. She is currently part of the TANTELAB III. platform, under the curatorial direction of the Tantehorse ensemble.
