City Horses [festival Bratislava v pohybe]

Dancers like a herd of wild horses in the streets of Bratislava!
Through a sensitive yet bold artistic gesture, the CITY HORSES project disrupts the stereotypes of urban architecture, which often belongs only to symbols of power and male dominance. It infuses it with untamed female energy and raises important questions about the city’s identity, our history, and who public space truly belongs to.

A group of dancers will transform into a herd of wild horses galloping through the streets of Bratislava. A fascinating performance that pays tribute to the courage and strength of women throughout the centuries.
Swedish creators – visual artist Helena Byström and choreographer Anna Källblad – link their concept with the local environment. In each city, they explore historic sites and adapt the concept of the performance in collaboration with local female artists. The uniqueness of the Bratislava presentation is further highlighted by a guest appearance of five dancers who participated in the project in Prague.

This successful site-specific project began its journey in 2017 in Stockholm, Copenhagen, and Brisbane, Australia. Since then, it has successfully toured European capitals, constantly evolving and captivating audiences wherever it goes.
