WHERE: West Tatra Mountains - camp Provida https://www.providajakubovany.net/
WHEN: 23.06.2021 – 30.06.2021

We are slowly coming back to a more social way of living. The question is: What journey do we choose to take? Let’s try the full-rounded experience. Somewhere in the forest is a gathering of people with an urge for discovery. All activities will be held in a beautiful environment of the West Tatra Mountains. The accommodation is provided in small twin-bedded rooms with no internet, no city noises or commercial life of tourism. The closest village with all amenities (Jakubovany) is about 4 kilometers away from the camp. In a period of 8 days you will get a chance, through a series of activities led by professional instructors, to fully regenerate, move and discover your body right in the middle of nature. Mornings will start with meditation and breath exercises in order to properly charge our bodies at the beginning of the day. The days will be filled with movement focusing on holistic physical development. The time in the evening will be dedicated to discussions or other free activities within the group community. After all, Somewhere in the forest is set in the middle of nature, where everyone is responsible for their own way of living and enjoying the moment.
Our instructors come from a contemporary dance environment, where they constantly work on their own personal and physical development on an everyday basis. This unique gathering offers a space full of possibilities to further broaden your knowledge of movement or develop what you already know. It is not important, whether you are a beginner or a professional. The main goal is to experience new connections between us, between movement and yourself. Based on the registered participants we will adjust the physical level and other activities, so everybody gets a positive and valuable experience.
The gathering is for everyone who is interested in spending some quality time in nature and with a lot of diverse physical activity. It is dedicated to all who enjoy spending time in a community, exchanging their knowledge and passions. To all who love sports, hiking, dance, martial arts, yoga, meditation, etc. And to all who want to do something for their personal development and are open to meeting other people with similar interests.
The number of participants is limited, therefore we ask you to send us a short text including who you are and what is your motivation to join us at Somewhere in the forest. (please state your age, physical abilities, level, for example running twice a week, swimming, dancing, etc.)

REGISTRATION DEADLINE – 5.6.2021

WHO ARE WE AND WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT FROM US?
The initiators of this gathering are Radoslav Piovarči, Giorgia Belotti and Paulína Šmatláková. Three young professionals, who have spent most of their careers working abroad with different dance companies and theatres. Over a long period of time they all have been focusing on current trends in working with the body, strengthening physical capacity and effectiveness of movement. They work not only as instructors, but also actively engage in personal development on a daily basis.
It is also important to mention that this is not a workshop with a strict time schedule. It is a space available for meeting, gathering and sharing with other people in a relaxed environment. The purpose is to have a fun time filled with activities that are focused on personal development.
What should you expect from the movement classes?
Each instructor has his/her own approach and principles they use when working with movement.
Radoslav works mainly with stability, effective and dynamic shifting in space as well as with breath and meditation. His priorities are to take movement into its maximum pleasure and joy. Moreover, it is a cooperation in couples or a group, adaptation to circumstances, space and its full potential. He focuses on how to use the variety of exterior spaces, which are full of inspiration and possibilities for working with the body.
Paulína focuses primarily on awakening the body as a whole and further developing the relationship between body, mind and soul. Through a guided improvisation we will discover our own and unique self-expression exploring different movement qualities, working in pairs or groups. Paulína also works with movement dynamics, shifting between exploring gradual intensification and discovering opposite extremes in qualities and emotions. It is not about the result, but rather the experience  [????]
Giorgia researches ways of expressing ideas, thoughts and everyday happenings of the thinking body through the experience of the moving body. Combining a deep listening of one’s own physical and mental state with the surrounding environment, she will guide explorations based on improvisation, which will start from specific questions and will lead to movement research, instant composition and eventually further questions to keep on exploring.

During these 8 days our instructors will share the time to develop their practices with you, as well as working collaboratively. The program will be also enriched with other activities, such as walks, hiking, swimming in the stream, literature reading, cultural program and others. Evening discussions will contain approximately 15-minutes long lectures about regeneration, healthy lifestyle, culture, art, etc., and sometimes just simply about life. Musical instruments are welcome.
During the stay in the camp we recommend to limit the use of alcohol and other addictive substances to minimum. It’s ideal to look at the time spent in this camp as an opportunity to detox from everything that is harmful for the body.
