OPEN CALL FOR DANCE RESIDENCIES IN BRATISLAVA

RESILIENCE - FRAGILITY - RADICAL CONDITIONS - IMPERFECTION - POTENTIALITIES - INVENTION - COMMUNITY - SHARING

The theme RESILIENCE we've chosen for 2021 residencies corresponds to the harshness of times but also to the place where residencies are situated. As a former gym, dance studio Telocvičňa is a spacious yet imperfect, hyper-important local dance hub. In 2021 for the first time it opens up for international artists. While past certainties are sinking in, a new sort of RESILIENCE and CONNECTIONS are required - new ways of keeping fit, sharing, touching. 

OPEN CALL FOR PROGRAMME RESIDANCE: 

We offer:

• 3 dance residencies for smaller international collectives (2-3 artists), with or without Slovak artists as members

• A large studio (2-3 weeks) in the frame of large creative hub in Bratislava in the period June-December 2021
• Accomodation (2-3 weeks)
• Basic artist fee (1000eur/residency)
• Coaching (in case of interest)
• Photo documentation of the process

What do we expect:

• 1 public presentation of the process - sharing session / artist talk

 

OPEN CALL FOR PROGRAMME CONNECTOR

 - 1 artistic residence for a non dance artist interested in the medium of dance 

We offer: 

• A small studio/office in the frame of the creative hub (3-4 weeks in the period June-Octobre 2021)
• Possibility to witness processes and creative work of several dance artists

• Basic artist fee 200euros/week
• Accomodation
• Mentoring/consultations 

We welcome:

•  different forms of work in progress presentations, performative talk or installations, discussions at the end of residency. 

Artists should send proposals for the residencies with description of their artistic project, brief outline of expectations from Bratislava residence as well as a short bio. 

Responding in some way to the main theme RESILIENCE isn't mandatory only welcomed.

We don't cover: 

• travel expenses 
• meals during the residencies
