WHAT STAYS – ARCHIVING CARE  transmediale festival in cooperation with JUNGE AKADEMIE of Akademie der Künste, Berlin and Goethe Institut Slovakia are pleased to announce What Stays - Archiving Care. The year-long project explores digital counter archives and the role of technology in opening up alternative histories and memories, and launches with an open call with three digital residencies for international artists from any discipline. The Ján Palárik Theater, Malý Berlín Cultural Center, Dušan Nebyla Dance Conservatory and the Alegria Dance and Movement Studio have decided to jointly create a long-term program and educational initiative called the Dance Plan for Trnava. Some time ago, we closed the registration of artists for the SLOVAK DANCE PLATFORM 2020. A total of 51 works were submitted, of which 34 works were included in the selection. Unfortunately, we could not classify some of the works because they did not meet the set criteria. March was the month of dramatic changes. Slovakia has a new Minister of Culture and we are hoping for better dialogue between her and all art fields including contemporary dance one. At the same time a global crisis caused by COVID-19 has put everything to halt. At the end of March  PlaST representatives sent a letter to the Minister of Culture of the Slovak Republic Natalia Milanová, introducing association Plast and outputs of several of our mapping projects from the past, offering complex information about the local dance scene which will be very needed in tackling the crisis.

We recently closed the application for the Slovak Dance Platform 2020. There were 51 works submitted, 34 of which met the criteria. Members and the co-ordinator of Contemporary Dance Platform (PlaST) took part in a creative vocational meeting focused on the topic of new structure for contemporary dance in Bratislava at the weekend of 21-22 October.
